A Brief History Of Sumter York Rite Bodies

The Sumter York Rite Bodies consists of a number of pendant orders.  Beulah Chapter 25, Royal Arch Masons, was chartered on 12 February 1861.  There are four degrees in the Chapter:

• Mark Masters Degree

• Past Masters Degree

• Most Excellent Masters Degree

• Royal Arch Degree

Seymour Council 15, Royal and Select Masters, was chartered on 18 April 1913.  There are two degrees in the Council:

• Royal Masters

• Select Masters

Sumter Commandery 20 was chartered on 11 March 1974.  There are three degrees in the Commandery:

• Illustrious Order of the Red Cross

• Knights of Malta

• Temple Degree
